An Education.Change.org / Beyond-School.org podcast.
A few days ago I published a podcast interview with Wendy Hawkins, the Executive Director of the Intel Foundation, about the Intel Science Talent Search. Wendy and I discussed the competition's 60 year history, and how many of the finalists over those years went on to win Nobel Prize, the Fields Medal, the National Medal of Science, and other top science honors when they became adults.
Today, I'm really happy to share a talk with two of the Science Talent Search's forty finalists, Caitlin Mann and Elizabeth Coquillette from Hathaway Brown School in Shaker Heights, Ohio. Lizzie and Caitlin give us an insider's view of a school and community that succeeds in turning its students onto real science, engineering, and technology.
What these two students share is worth listening to for all parents, schools, and teachers looking for ways to improve science learning in their schools. It's also just a kick in the pants to listen to two such bright, fun personalities talk about science education that works.
